Back in 1948, a wealthy Dallas socialite, Margarita Sames, held magical parties at her villa in Acapulco. She shook up her favorite ingredients-Cointreau, tequila, and fresh lime juice-into what was to become the classic margarita, a cocktail resplendent in a uniquely shaped, wide-rimmed glass frosted in salt. Here, ten mixologists from establishments known for their signature margaritas take the classic recipe for a spin. You’re invited along for the ride too. Test the recipes with friends at home (see below), and stop in to sample these margaritas on your travels around Texas.
