TO LAUNCH HER NEW BOOK ‘FLAVORS OF MY WORLD’ CELEBRITY CHEF MANEET CHAUHAN COOKS IN DALLAS WITH ABRAHAM SALUM AT KOMALI ON HER 21-CITY CROSS COUNTRY TOUR
New York celebrity chef Maneet Chauhan, who just wrapped her fourth season as a Judge on Food Network’s Chopped and competed on Iron Chef, is a recent recipient of the James Beard Award for Excellence, appearing most recently on The View, and makes a one-night stop in Dallas April 26th on her cross-country book promotional tour. Selecting local celebrity chef Abraham Salum to partner with for an evening of cooking and book signing, Maneet brings her talent and her tome to Komali Restaurant in Uptown for a night to remember.
While in Dallas, Maneet will conduct the Pro-Start cooking competition for high school students as part of her support of this program of the National Restaurant Association.
Cooking, book signing at Komali, and the Pro-Start cooking competition will be chronicled by video cameras for Maneet’s upcoming reality TV show.
Recipes from Flavors of My World (Favorite Recipes Press; May 1, 2013), co-authored by Daily Food & Wine Founder and Jetset Magazine Travel Editor, Doug Singer, will be featured at the three-course wine dinner. Joining in the cooking will be Komali chef/owner Abraham Salum and Komali’s executive chef Anastasia Quinones. Each dinner guest receives a copy of the book.
An honor graduate of the Culinary Institute of America as well as the WelcomGroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration in her native India, Maneet Chauhan was the opening chef of Chicago’s Vermilion Restaurant where she earned accolades from Chicago Magazine, Wine Enthusiast, and Esquire. Then taking the concept to New York City, she received exceptional reviews from Bon Appetit, USA Today, Time, Gourmet, Travel & Leisure, Business Week and O.
Having just returned from his second invitational Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf classic, Chef Salum was named one of the top ten Dallas chefs by a local magazine, has judged the ProStart Competition for the Texas Restaurant Association, cooked at the Super Bowl, and appeared at the James Beard House in New York. Komali was cited by John Mariani in Esquire Magazine as one of the US restaurants leading the way for authentic Mexican cuisine. Recognized, as a local talent with a creative edge Komali chef Anastasia Quinones also is a CIA graduate.
This one night only Celebrity Chef Dinner and Book Signing is Friday, April 26th, open seating from 6 pm to 10:30 pm. Limited seats available. The cost is $95.00 per person (plus tax and tip) and includes:
