It’s here – the 25th Annual National Shakespeare Competition this Saturday, Feb. 20th, at Highland Park High School. Judges from Shakespeare Dallas, the area’s veteran producers of Shakespeare in the Park, will select one winner from the 10 competing area high schools. That top performer advances to Nationals in New York this spring, and then, should the fates allow, on to England to study Shakespeare first-hand on full scholarship.
Enjoy last year’s winning performance here.
Popular Dallas public speaker Rose-Mary Rumbley opens the event at 9:00 am with a reflection on this year as the 400th Anniversary of the death of Shakespeare. Highland Park High School is located at 4220 Emerson.
